Green Schwinn Stingray with white banana seat. Who could forget their first bike? Racing down the street straight for the ramp set on the stack of logs. Poor Robin, my best friend, is lying on the ground, face up and eyes closed wondering if I will clear him and my little brother “CJ”, who has no idea the danger he is in………

I decided to ride in the Death Ride for two reasons. The first is a personal one. I was looking for a cycling event that is physically and mentaly demanding. The second was find a way to generate funds for Turning Wheels for Kids. I participated in the Build-a- Bike event the last two years and had a chance to see kids recieving their bikes. You would not believe their smiles. To think there are children in our community that do not have an opportunity for memories like you and I is heartbreaking. The physical and mental health benefits list for children riding a bike is long. Most avid cyclists, myself included, will tell you one of the reasons they ride is to help them deal with the stress of day to day life. Imagine the benefits for the at-risk youth!

If you can help out, I really appreciate it, espesially in these tough times! If not, please let me know I have your moral support. Lots of miles and climbing to do to get ready for the BIG ride.
