Every year I try something new to improve my life. Over the past years it has involved swimming events, triathlons, century rides and surfing contests. This year I was inspired to sign up for the Death Ride by my girlfriend Mary. It sounded horrible but fun at the same time. We started training over the past few months climbing any and all hills in Santa Cruz County, now we are into the thick of it. I believe that it would be nice to do this EPIC journey for a cause greater than I. The cause found me while cycling up summit road one beautiful day – Turning Wheels for Kids. I feel the Death Ride, as brutal as it is said to be, will be a life changing ride – for me and for some very lucky children. I have never ridden 130 miles while travelling up 15,000 feet of elevation gain in one day of cycling. To do this will be a fantastic accomplishment for me. Please help me, and the children, attain this goal. Any, and all, donation will be appreciated.
