Kids on bikes make me smile. As a kid I remember riding my bike all over town. What freedom, what independence. I want kids to go out and play, ride, and experience the freedom that I did.
Last year TWFK had a good team of riders complete the Death Ride. A lot of you donated to these riders on behalf of me. Somehow I got talked into actually riding the event this year. To be able to ride the event this year I started last October training in the gym. I have been on the road riding, looking for hills that won’t kill me. I need to make this ride more meaningful for me so that I won’t chicken out at the last minute. I figure if I get a bunch of people to donate in my name I cannot let them down. I am riding for a cause – TurningWheels For Kids.I want to help TWFK continue to get kids on bikes.
I know this year is a tough year for people financially. It is even tougher for those that live on the edge. I want bikes to appear under some Christmas trees this year. Help me make sure that happens.
Committing to and completing the Tour of the California AlpsThe Death Ride is a big step for me.
