Derek Lemberger
For the last three years I have been traveling up and cheering on the riders at the bottom of the third pass rest stop. Last year Leah, Dave, Jeff and Brennan came rolling in and I thought these guys are doing such a great thing and how hard core what they are doing is.
After everything was said and done I know if I could find a way to afford a bike I was in. Thanks to the generosity of Raleigh I was able to get a really nice bike. Now that I don’t have any more excuses for not participating, now I’m riding! I haven’t done much riding in the last 20 years other than pulling my boys in a trailer with my mountain bike, so I have a lot to learn and even more training that needs to happen.
TurningWheels has been a huge part of my life since its inception and I have loved all of it (well most of it, hehe). Doing the Death Ride has been a huge personal goal of mine ever since I heard about it from Leah and I love that I get to share it with TurningWheels and all the other riders this year.
I know with all your help and support I will be able to raise money for the children of TurningWheels and help to make a lot of kids healthier from riding and get them the ultimate gift under the Christmas tree.
Make your donation to Derek and support his ride!
